Seriously, how can you beat $1.69 a pound for a Bell and Evans Whole Chicken?? As I broke apart this juicy chicken for Baby Bell’s food (she has no idea how lucky she is), I knew I had to write about this. Yes, you can find bargains at Whole Foods!
I’m almost scared, as I love how my Whole Foods isn’t really ever packed. Do I really want this secret to get out?!? But, everyone thinks it is so expensive. Don’t get me wrong, it totally could be. But, the quality far exceeds most other grocery stores (at least in my humble opinion). And, if you are strictly looking for bargains, you can surely assemble a nice cartload! These days the Prime Savings add up too. So, you have to keep your eyes open and you can grocery shop on a budget even at Whole Foods. Take a look at the local sales page to get an idea! https://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/sales-flyer/springlakewall
But… back to quality. One thing that has become abundantly clear to me having been shopping at Whole Foods is that you don’t have to rush like a crazy woman to eat your fresh fruits and veggies. They last a little bit longer than your average grocery store. I don’t know why. I don’t know if it is because they try to purvey a lot of local foods or if their standards or higher or if their stock life is shorter or what… but the fresh stuff lasts.
Another thing is they are picky about what they are stocking. I have never been particularly wild about corn on the cob. But our new Weber and Whole Foods has totally changed that. Between me actually learning to grill and the fact that every single ear of corn has been absolutely pristine and tasty, I am now officially obsessed with Jersey Summer Corn!
I encourage you to grab a couple ears for yourself! Go take a peak at the sales before you leave!
Cheers!
