There are so many ways and ideas to help you get motivated to gain consistency with your workouts, but the best one is the one that gets YOU moving.
Try different apps
I have a couple of different ones I use. But I wanted to tell you today about using an activity tracker app. The one I use is Endomondo. They have both a free version and a pay version. For my purposes the free one is just fine. It’s great when you are running, you plug in the sport type and hit play and the GPS tracks your route and monitors your mileage. There are ways to share your workouts etc.
Keep it simple.
Track in live time when you run and then put in history for things like classes taken at the gym. I guess it’s kinda like keeping a food diary. I don’t do much with this history. Just keeping a log of it month after month and year after year does push me to do better and try to improve because you actually see it.
The other thing I do, is compete with my husband. There’s a way to automatically do this through the app. We just pull it up at the end of each month to see who has tracked more miles. It’s silly in a way, because we both do other workouts as well, but it’s become a thing we do at the end of each month.
Benefits of working out
Working out helps keep my mind and body strong. It helps give me a positive outlook and makes me smile at life a little more. Using the app is one way to hold me accountable for ensuring I get the workouts in and continue to improve in one way or another. We guess as long as it helps get you moving and keeps you moving, it’s working!
